Grotto

A bright grotto–a contemporary abstraction of nature–is the design concept for this underground washroom. Sustainability, spatial sculpting, human comfort drive the design. The grotto retains the original layout, uncovers two round, tilted square columns to form a unique white mass; seamless curve surfaces diffuse light and omit dirty edges. Plants, irrigated by filtered greywater, purify the air, add life and colors. The original sandstones are crushed as gold aggregates of the new terrazzo floor. Integrated tap-hand dryer, waterless urinal and toilet largely reduce water-use and waste.

The structure is approximately 15,000 GSF of flexible office, meeting, and laboratory space in a modern and sustainable LEED certified facility. The goal was to utilize as many sustainable systems as possible, in order to promote the Center as an example of energy efficient and sustainable design for the region.

Spider bin is a universal and economical solution for sorting recyclable materials. A group of pop-up bins are created for home, office or outdoors. One item has two basic parts: a frame and a bag. It is easily moved from one place to another, convenient to transport and store, because it can be flat when not in use. Buyers order spider bin online where they can choose size, number of Spider Bins and the bag type according to their needs.

fold to hold

In china, it is common for waiter to take away the finished food in fast food restaurant. However, diner sometimes leave the table temporarily such as going to restroom, and his food make be taken away by waiter. FOLD TO HOLD is a paper tray designed for someone who is having fast food alone. If he wants to leave his seat temporarily, he only needs to rive the paper along the dotted line and fold it up, which can convey the message of “haven’t finished” to hold his food.

Forest Lodge ECO House

As the surrounding properties reflected the history of the heritage area, this new house on a vacant block, added to that timeline, by not trying to re create the past, but to forge its place in the present showcasing the best of contemporary design ideas. Eco-design principals were used to create intelligent innovative design of which the heat core storage cell was an Australian first. Many of the systems were custom designed and built specifically for this house, providing innovation not yet tested or seen in Australia.
